There’s something so peaceful and beautiful about sunflowers in August. The way they hold the last notes of summer — warm, unhurried, and gently fading into fall.
For this session, we kept things simple: black dresses against fields of gold. The late summer sun gave us soft, warm light that moved slowly across the field. We didn’t worry about posing — just walked, talked, and let the moment unfold.
The sunflowers were at their height — open, warm, and breathing in the last of summer. The girls wandered through the field together, shifting between laughter and stillness. The resulting portraits feel rooted and sincere, full of an unspoken confidence.
There’s a quiet kind of beauty in things just as they are — unposed, unworried, and golden around the edges.
These portraits are less about performing beauty and more about being in it — the kind that exists in pauses, in gestures, in the sunlight on bare shoulders, in the way friends mirror each other without thinking.
Late summer always asks us to slow down a little. These frames are a testament to that memory.
